Case Study: Love it or List it Vancouver
The Client:
Love It or List It Vancouver is a real estate program co-hosted by TV personality and interior designer Jillian Harris and real estate entrepreneur Todd Talbot. During each episode, Harris and Talbot face-off against each other in a ‘friendly’ competition to convince homeowners to ‘love or list’ their current property. Harris attempts to renew the love owners once had for their homes with a complete renovation, while Talbot tries to persuade them to relocate using the temptation of a stunning new house.
The Campaign:
Love It or List It Vancouver sought media relations and online marketing support to help raise awareness for the application process. Love it or List it Vancouver required a strong contingent of new homeowner applications for Season 3 and, as such, LMPR devised a PR strategy to help raise the profile of the show, while showcasing the personality of celebrity co-hosts Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot and the numerous benefits of the application process.
The Results:
Since hiring Laura Murray Public Relations, Love it or List it Vancouver saw a hugely significant increase in applicants. Through publicized calls to action, LMPR aided the already popular TV show by securing media coverage, and creating online advertisements that drew attention to their open application process.
Highlights include: Westcoast Homes & Design Magazine, City TV’s Breakfast Television, 24 hrs Newspaper, The Province (online), The Vancouver Sun (online), Shaw TV’s go! Westcoast, Vancity Buzz, Global BC Weekend News, and online advertisements.
