Case Study: Blackbird Theatre presents Don Juan
The Client
Blackbird Theatre is Vancouver's foremost presenter of classical theatre. In its short existence, the company has mounted highly-acclaimed productions by such far-ranging playwrights as Albee, Beckett, Euripides, Ibsen, Pinter, and more.
In December of 2012 the company mounted a new adaptation of Don Juan, by Molière, which continues its run at the Cultch through January 26, 2013.
The Campaign
Laura Murray Public Relations were hired to provide a full service marketing campaign for the production, including graphic design, advertising buy, promotions, and media relations.
The Results
Don Juan's presence in the Lower Mainland was undeniable, with audiences, actors, and the general public alike commenting upon how the show seemed to appear everywhere they looked.
The marketing campaign saw the show creative reach potential audiences members through an enormous variety of traditional, online, and unexpected channels. The media relations campaign saw coverage in The Globe and Mail, The Vancouver Sun, The Province, The Georgia Straight, WE Vancouver, North Shore News, Metro News, OMNI TV, Novus TV, and CBC Radio Canada, among many others.
